Acknowledging learning activities and competences
Badge It Yourself
Workshop in German without translation, lead by Daniela Weber and Thomas Schroeder, Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung NRW
The newest addition to ILIAS 5.2 - Open Badges. Even though the open badge standard has been existing for many years, there is still some uncertainty about what they actually are and how to put them to proper use. In our workshop we will discuss the basic possibilities and advantages of OBs. Together we will look into how the potential of recognition, identification, permeability and gamification work together.
Just like the title of this workshop, "Badge It Yourself", you will get the opportunity to devise your first own badges. The following question will, among others, be of importance:
- What is going to be acknowledged?
- What is my badge called?
- What is the design principle behind creating badges?
- What tools can I use to create a badge?
At the end of the workshop you will have created one or more badges according to a set of precise criteria.
Daniela Weber und Thomas Schroeder have both studied media education and are responsible for e-learning at the Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung NRW.
