Development of organisations and support models for e-learning

The successful and sustainable application of e-Learning in the tertiary education sector makes effective models for organisational development and the support for users necessary. Organisational development, defined as a process of developing an organisation and its staff, in this sector can be understood as a continuum that reaches from user support and retraining to strategic planning and innovation. Due to various factors such as lack of resources, user requirements and the rapid development of learning technologies, conflicts as to which priorities should be established can arise. This presentation describes strategies of organisational development and the recently introduced support model for e-Learning based on the study of the case of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where learning technologies in form of a learning platform as a central instrument for the presentation of contents and for communication as well as additional tools for innovative teaching- and learning functions are widely applied.
