Hope or hype? The possibilities of Web 2.0 for e-learning as examplified by ILIAS

Media coverage of internet and e-learning is being dominated by the term "Web 2.0". Is "Web 2.0" actually instrumental for e-learning or just the latest buzz word?
Alexander Killing and Matthias Kunkel of the ILIAS Development Team present the concept of Web 2.0. Based on that they outline which aspects of it are already implemented in ILIAS as well as identifying the limits of the Web 2.0 approach for e-learning. Additionally hands-on practicable scenarios for using Web 2.0 in vocational education are presented.
